OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS
BARCELONA CONTEMPORARY 2026 – 8th Edition

ITSLIQUID Group invites artists from around the world to apply for the 8th edition of BARCELONA CONTEMPORARY 2026, an international contemporary art exhibition taking place April 10–18, 2026 at ITSLIQUID Art Space – Barcelona.

The exhibition is open to contemporary painters, photographers, video artists, installation artists, sculptors, and performance artists, and aims to showcase innovative and diverse artistic practices within one of Europe’s most dynamic cultural capitals.

Exhibition Theme

BARCELONA CONTEMPORARY 2026 explores the evolving relationship between body and space, examining how identity is shaped and transformed within today’s cultural, social, and urban environments.

The exhibition is structured around two curated sections:

MIXING IDENTITIES

This section investigates the hidden and fluid aspects of identity through immersive and introspective approaches. The human body is seen as a dynamic system—constantly changing, interacting, and communicating with other bodies and spaces. Artists are invited to explore consciousness, perception, connection, and the infinite languages of human expression.

FUTURE LANDSCAPES

FUTURE LANDSCAPES focuses on abstract, conceptual, and mental spaces that transcend physical boundaries. These works explore freedom, infinity, and transformation, redefining borders between body, mind, and soul, as well as between human identity and the contemporary city. Artists are encouraged to imagine new spatial structures, utopian visions, and conceptual territories.
