BOOKING AGENT - TOURING/PERFORMING ARTS DIVISION

Position Description

OBJECTIVE

The Booking Agent is a sales position responsible for managing buyer relationships and selling dates for ECE Touring’s roster of talent which includes Dance, Comedy, Theatricals, Music, Family Programming and Educational/Community outreach events. The ideal candidate is a seasoned sales professional with experience in the Performing Arts, Fairs and Festivals, and/or the University markets working with Entertainment and Programming Directors. Creativity, enthusiasm, and integrity is paramount to this full-time role. The Booking Agent’s territory will be from the Great Lakes through Gulf states.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain key relationships with existing buyers
• Cultivate new relationships with presenters and performing artists
• Consistently meet specific sales goals and targets
• Build and manage a book of business through cold calling, meetings, and networking
• Track leads, send proposals, log communications and issue contracts through ECE’s custom CRM program
• Stay abreast of entertainment trends
• Work cohesively with the sales team, artists, and presenters
• Oversee exclusive artists relationships with the company

Requirements

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travel is required as the Booking Agent will have to travel to several trade shows and some live events.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Booking Agent reports to the Director of ECE Touring and ECE’s Corporate Director of Sales. This position is expected to work cooperatively with all company leadership and employees.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The position requires 3-5 years of professional sales experience with a preferred knowledge of working with Performing Arts venues, Theaters, Universities and/or Fairs and Festivals. Must possess a strong desire to set and achieve goals, enjoy talking with prospective clients, and have strong closing skills. Qualified candidates will possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, work collaboratively, and demonstrate an aptitude for organization and customer service. Creativity, zeal, and an excellent sense of humor are key attributes to work in the entertainment business. Experience working with Microsoft Office, Google, and social media channels is preferred. Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary base, switching to full commission after established + annual bonus.
