The pandemic seriously impacted Black creators. According to data collected by Americans for the Arts, BIPOC artists are more likely to be sharing their work online for free.

We want to help Black creators discover new ways to monetize their work online. That’s why we’re launching Black Web Fest x Web Monetization, a program that provides training for creators to learn how to use web monetization to access new streams of funding. We’ll be providing free training, two-month free Coil Membership and four creators will be awarded a $5,000 grant.

One creator selected from each category (i.e., Best Short Film, Best Short Documentary, Best Web Series, and Best Animation) will receive a $5,000 grant ($4,000 to use on their next project + $1,000 to use on marketing their film or series) and support to stream and monetize their content on Cinnamon.Video.

Applications open on April 25th. Submissions will close June 25, 2022. Winners will be announced before or by July 25, 2022, at 11:59 EST.
