The Bronx Council on the Arts is seeking two artists with teaching experience to lead 12-week residencies in collaboration with Bronx-based community organizations. The selected artists will commit to offer one online 90-minute workshop per week over the 12-week engagement.
The program aims to engage Bronx communities with the benefits of creative expression. Successful candidates will have experience teaching and working with under-served communities, and will possess a passion for arts education. Applicants must be a resident of the Bronx.
The program provides selected artists with a stipend in the amount of $2,000 in exchange for the creation and delivery of Zoom-based arts programming. Programming will be selected based on the preferences of the organizations hosting the residencies, and based on on the wants and needs of the communities they serve. Selected artists will work with the matched organization to further define project goals and coordinate a schedule for residency activities and use of facilities.

Destination Tomorrow:
Destination Tomorrow is a grassroots agency located in the South Bronx that provides services to and for the LGBTQ+ community through community talks, open hours, health and wellness services, and arts programming.
Empowering Marginalized Women and Girls:
Empowering Marginalized Women & Girls Inc (EMWG) is an organization that prevents first time and reoccurring homelessness in at risk women by addressing the underlying causes in homelessness such as, mental health disorders, poor health, poverty and domestic violence. EMWG engages at risk women and girls in skill building activities, mental health groups, homeless intervention services and health education. This residency will be with a group of those that have been affected by COVID-19.
