Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC), a Tony Award-winning nonprofit theatre, is seeking an energetic, committed and extremely organized individual to come on board as a team member in our very busy casting office. This casting office casts principals and understudies for Manhattan Theatre Club productions, both on Broadway and Off-Broadway, as well as in-house and public readings. In addition, the office is committed to actively engaging in meaningful and consistent outreach to historically under/misrepresented populations of actors to increase access to opportunities and visibility in both the immediate and long-term. The position’s responsibilities include, but will not be limited to: creation and collaboration on casting lists; participation in screening and director sessions; meaningful input on actors to be considered, scheduled and seen; casting readings - solo as well as in collaboration with the CDs; scheduling and running Equity Principal Auditions; keeping abreast of deadlines; and setting the agenda for weekly department meetings. The Associate Casting Director will be expected to attend plays, films and student actor presentations, as well as to share in providing clerical support, as needed.

There will be extensive interaction with talent agents, directors, actors and playwrights, both on the telephone and in person. Excellent communication skills are a must, as are attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collectively as a team.

Requirements

We are seeking an individual to join our casting team in a spirit of collaboration, transparency, and inclusivity.

Previous casting and office experience are required, as is working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Docs and Breakdown Express/Eco-Cast. The Associate Casting Director will be supervised by, and work in concert with, the Casting Directors.

This is a full time, salaried position paying in the low to mid $50K range with full benefits package including: choice between 2 group health plans with options for spousal, family and/or domestic partner coverage, basic life and long term disability insurance, paid time off and optional 401(k), voluntary dental, vision and flex savings plans for healthcare, dependent care and commuting expenses. In addition to having the opportunity to attend all MTC productions, the Associate Casting Director will frequently receive complimentary tickets to other shows and will be reimbursed for the purchase of tickets to a vast array of on and off-Broadway productions, as approved by the Casting Directors.
