ART 64 is a two-day bracket-style tournament taking place in The Village of Wauwatosa, highlighting diverse, nationwide artists and local businesses. ART 64 is proudly brought to you by Discover Wauwatosa.
In four rounds, artists are paired to go head-to-head and given 60 minutes to create a work of art on a predetermined theme on canvas.
Members of the public, both in-person and virtually, are invited to watch the paintings come to life and vote for their favorite artists to advance online.
All participants receive money for participating: First round competitors receive a total of $100, second round competitors receive a total of $200, third round competitors receive a total of $400, and final round competitors receive a total of $800 for their participation. The sole winner of ART 64 receives $20,000 in total.
Requirements
-Artists must be 18 or older-Artists must apply individually; no pairs or teams will be accepted
-Past work demonstrates original imagery and the ability to produce high-quality artwork in a fast-paced, tournament-style presentation
-Any medium is welcome, but compositions must be presented on the same-sized canvases (non-canvas material, such as watercolor paper, is acceptable but must be brought by artist and trimmed to 16x20”)
-Selected artists must be willing to travel to Wauwatosa and participate the weekend of competition (June 9-11, 2023)
-Compositions must not infringe on third party rights
-Since events will be open to all ages of the public, compositions must be family-friendly (no nudity, depictions of sexual acts or acts of violence)
