The Performing Arts Administration graduate program at NYU Steinhardt seeks qualified candidates to teach the following graduate course required of all Performing Arts Administration students:

Course Title: Planning and Finance for the Performing Arts

Course Description:
Techniques for strategic planning and managerial finance in the performing arts organization from the perspective of its chief executive officer. Integration of skills in organizational evaluation, strategic planning, mission formulation, operations management, and finance. Students are required to write a strategic plan for a performing arts organization.

Course Schedule for Fall 2022:
Tuesdays 4:55 - 6:35 pm ET (9/1/2022 - 12/15/2022)

The course is offered once a year in the Fall semester. Depending on student feedback, the contract may be extended for additional semesters.

The Performing Arts Administration program is designed to educate and prepare students to become leaders of performing arts organizations in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors through the successful completion of business coursework, industry-specific courses, and internships. The program has approximately 100 full-time students. We are seeking candidates from a diversity of backgrounds with innovative and broad skill sets who can augment the current strengths of the program.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of a Master’s degree;

More than 5 years of finance and strategic planning experience in the arts sector;

Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively, collegially, and professionally with students, faculty, and staff; and

Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of the campus and department mission

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the college level
