Naya Magazine is currently accepting pitches from writers interested in exploring the richness and complexity of AAPI culture through sharp analysis, strong narrative voice, and deep cultural insight. They publish work that speaks to and from the AAPI experience—across fine art, performance, writing, film, music, and the intersections in between.
They are looking for contributors with a clear point of view and a commitment to thoughtful, community-rooted storytelling.
Requirements
Naya Magazine accepts pitches in the following categories:
Essays
700–1,100 words that reflect on timely, resonant issues within AAPI culture—whether personal, political, historical, or artistic in nature.
Reviews
400-600 words reviewing current or recent exhibitions, events, performances, or publications. Reviews should present a clear angle, balancing celebration with critical engagement.
Profiles
600–900 word pieces highlighting AAPI individuals shaping arts/culture/social activism/education. This includes artists, curators, organizers, scholars, or anyone contributing meaningfully to AAPI culture.
Interviews
A focused conversation exploring a specific theme, artistic practice, or point in an artist’s trajectory.
