2020 Firehouse Art Center Call For Artists
Firehouse Art Center
667 4th Avenue
Longmont’s leading contemporary art center featuring both national and local artists. Our beautiful National Historic Landmark building features two exhibitions spaces and over 1,000 square feet of space. In 2019 we exhibited 56 artists in 15 unique exhibitions. New exhibitions are installed almost every month. We focus on accessible contemporary art that engages curiosity and conversation. Admission to the Firehouse is free and serves over 10,000 visitors each year. We were voted the Best Art Gallery in East Boulder County, for 7 years in a row and the Times Call Readers Choice for Best Art Gallery 6 years in a row.
Our exhibitions committee consists of artists, art administrators, business professionals, curators and art collectors. Preference is given to submissions that are culturally relevant with a unique perspective and the ability to provide a diverse art experience. Cutting edge contemporary work and multi-disciplinary artists are strongly encouraged. Group exhibitions and curatorial proposals are welcomed, as well as solo exhibition proposals from established and emerging artists in all mediums.
Covid-19 information: The Firehouse is open for the summer to a limited number of visitors at a time, masks required. While we are experiencing some adjustments, and things are changing all the time, we are completing our exhibitions schedule as planned this year and will continue into 2021.
