A4 Appoints Leo Chen and Mohmeet Kaur to Board of Directors
Asian American Arts Alliance (A4) announced today that Leo Chen and Mohmeet Kaur have joined A4’s Board of Directors.
Leo is a director within the Aladdin COO team at BlackRock and leads client contracting for their technology business on a global basis. He has been at the company since 2005 and had previously built and led the legal team in support of the Aladdin and Aladdin Wealth technology businesses as well as sourcing of third party products and services for the full organization.
Leo was previously vice president of business & legal affairs at The Shooting Gallery, a New York-based independent film and media company, where he was responsible for managing all legal aspects of its interactive media division and intellectual property issues for the company. He started his career as an intellectual property litigator at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and later as a technology contracts counsel at Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner. Leo earned an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Columbia College, and a JD from Columbia University School of Law.
Leo currently enjoys Manhattan life on the Upper East Side with his wife and son, and regularly takes advantage of the breadth of culture the city has to offer, from street fairs and museums, to underground music clubs and outdoor concerts, to IMAX theaters and open-air film festivals.
Mohmeet is a first-generation Indian American and Vice President at Barclays Investment Bank, where she leads the Risk Identification function for the firm in the US with nine years of experience designing enterprise-wide risk frameworks and AI solutions. She specializes in risk modeling, regulatory compliance, and GenAI applications, recently leading a team that developed a GenAI-powered risk monitoring system reducing response times by 45%.
Before her current role, Mohmeet held positions across global financial institutions including BlackRock’s Portfolio Analytics Group in India, CRISIL (S&P Company) as a Credit Ratings Associate, and Mizuho Securities as a Quantitative Researcher. While at BlackRock, she was selected as a top-4 finalist in the 2015 Hackathon and coached over 100 new recruits on finance fundamentals. She holds a Master of Science in financial mathematics from the University of Chicago’s Mathematics Department (Physical Sciences Division) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) from the University of Delhi. She is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and serves as Gender, D&I and Mindset Champion at Barclays, leading panels on diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Mohmeet has been deeply involved in mentorship and education, serving as a UChicago career guidance panelist, guest faculty for FRM candidates, and on the admissions committee for the University of Chicago’s Financial Mathematics program. She has also volunteered with an NGO in Delaware, developing analytics tools to track student enrollment and intake for educational programs serving underprivileged students. As an artist who explores themes of representation, she carries South Asian representation with her daily and is passionate about supporting emerging voices in the Asian American creative community. An avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, she’s currently diving into parenting books as she navigates new life chapters. When not immersed in literature, she enjoys science fiction shows (eagerly awaiting Stranger Things season 5), astrophotography, exploring New York City’s world-class museums, and cooking delicious meals for her family on weekends.
