Y. Orosa Lit Society presents: Kape't Libro
2:30 – 4:30PM
Kape (coffee) is best served with chismis (gossip). Their scoop is all about the story of Filipino Americans living in Los Angeles. Brew your Sunday coffee with us this September 28, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm at Cr8tive NYC to discuss The Latinos of Asia: How Filipino Americans Break the Rules of Race by Anthony Christian Ocampo.
They’ll gather in a circle to share lived experiences related to the book, the lingering impact of colonialism, and how you can move forward towards community healing and finally, liberation. Bring your thoughts, reflections, and honest reactions as you sip your coffee and eat merienda (snacks). They will be sending out the discussion questions in advance via email.
They have limited space, so they encourage you to reserve your spot ASAP. Tickets are $15 to secure your place, including a $5 suggested donation will help cover future event expenses.
