Voices Rising: What's Next for Asian Americans in the Arts?
7 – 9PM
The WNET Group’s ALL ARTS and Exploring Hate initiatives are teaming up with The Serica Initiative and CUNY’s Asian American / Asian Research Institute (AAARI) to proudly present “Voices Rising: What’s Next for Asian Americans in the Arts?” A panel of celebrated Asian American artists will discuss where we are post-pandemic, how to keep the momentum going, and what’s next for the Asian American artist community, in a live, recorded discussion followed by artistic performances.
The event will feature luminaries in the Asian American arts community, including David Henry Hwang, BD Wond, Rosalind Chao, Mira Jacob, Jose Antonio Vargas, and Qian Julie Wang, with live performances by comedian Pooja Reddy and tap dancer Naomi Funaki. The event will be held at CUNY’s Elebash Recital Hall from 7-9pm on Thursday, May 9th. Tickets are free but registration is required, and seating is first-come, first-served.
