Slumlord Millionaire NYC Theatrical Release

June 6 – June 12, 2025
2:30 – 9PM

Come to a screening of the NYC Theatrical release of SLUMLORD MILLIONAIRE at DCTV’s Firehouse Cinema in Chinatown from April 18–24.

SLUMLORD MILLIONAIRE follows the stories of 7 tenants in New York City—each a David vs. Goliath battle that exposes the human toll of gentrification, the lack of accountability and fair representation in city politics and policy, the widening wealth gap between billionaires and everyone else, and the promise of what is possible when we organize together. The film is a love letter to NYC, featuring tenant movements in Manhattan Chinatown, Sunset Park, Clinton Hill, and Jamaica, and highlighting issues of landlord harassment and predatory deed theft that target Black homeowners.

Directed and produced by Steph Ching and Ellen Martinez, and produced by Nicole Tsien, SLUMLORD MILLIONAIRE won the 2024 DOC NYC Audience Award, and the 2025 CAAMFest Best Documentary Award. The film will be broadcast through VOCES (Latino Public Broadcasting) and PBS on July 28.
