Screening with Artist Kenneth Tam

Kenneth Tam’s videos and sculptures locate vulnerabilities within normative conceptions of masculinity. The screening will present several videos in which Tam reimagines the spaces and rituals that give rise to ideas about the male body and its performance. A screening of three works — Breakfast in Bed (2016, 32 mins.); All of M (2019, 12 mins.); The compression is not subservient to the explosion; it gives it increased force (2011, 12 mins.) —will be followed by a brief artist talk and Q+A.
