Made famous by the 1957 Technicolor film starring Marlon Brando, this musical incarnation produced by Pan Asian Repertory Theatre features a love story between a U.S. Air Force Major and a Japanese entertainer from the all female Takarazuka dance theater. Tisa Chang directs this re-imagining of the epic musical of US military in post-WWII Japan. This production highlights how compassion and love can heal prejudice despite the inevitable collision of two disparate, codified cultures. Running at the Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row.
