Queens Public Library is delighted to share a trio of upcoming events - Pride: A Musical Performance with treya lam
Celebrate Pride Month with a musical performance by acclaimed artist treya lam. Join in at East Flushing Library (6/9 @4pm), Elmhurst Library (6/16 @4pm), and Flushing Library (6/18 @6pm) for a special performance of storytelling and song! The multidisciplinary “Otherland” includes themes of protest and liberation-oriented songwriting that “perfectly captures the mixture of love, loss and hope” (Smithsonian Magazine).
They are currently recording their sophomore album “Otherland: a sonic altar” which features Allison Russell, have been a OneBeat Fellow and Joe’s Pub Working Group resident. lam has shared stages with Ani DiFranco, Valerie June, has headlined at Lincoln Center and MASS MoCA.
