Musical Storytellers Lab
10:30 – 12PM
Ignite your child’s imagination at the Musical Storytellers Lab, a tuition-free workshop where children ages 6-10 transform original stories into immersive sonic worlds. Led by award-winning teaching artists Ko Tanaka and Lalit Sritara, this hands-on experience at the Glow Cultural Center invites kids to step away from screens and dive into the tactile world of analog synthesizers. Through a unique blend of character-building and technology literacy, students will collaborate to compose a shared musical performance, learning how to sculpt sound and express complex emotions. Your child will receive personalized guidance as they plant the seeds of a story and watch them grow through melody and machine.
This project is a part of the What Can We Do? artist grant program, presented by Asian American Arts Alliance (A4) and is supported by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council. Special thanks to Council Members Christopher Marte and Sandra Ung. Programs serving cross-cultural solidarity and the Palestinian community are funded through a grant from the Ford Foundation for Social Justice.
