Riyad Nicolas, Syrian pianist, born in Aleppo, moved to London in 2005, after being awarded a scholarship to study at the Purcell School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music with Sulamita Aronovsky. In September 2013 he began a Master’s of Performance 2-year program at the Royal College of Music with Dmitri Alexeev and Vanessa Latarche.

Having established himself as a leading figure on the international performing circuit with début performances at the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, and the Cadogan Hall in London, Nicolas has won numerous international prizes and awards including: First Prize at the Francaix International Piano Competition in France; First Prize at the Norah Sande Award, and the Christopher Duke Recital Prize in the United Kingdome; and, the Ciutat de Carlet International Piano Competition in Spain, among others. He was selected as a Tillett Trust Young Artist in 2012 and as guest artist at the Countess of Munster Trust Concert Scheme in 2014.

Nicolas has performed with orchestras including the London Chamber Orchestra, Young Musician Symphony Orchestra, Emirate Symphony Orchestra, Syrian National Symphony Orchestra, and the Chamber Orchestra of Aleppo.
