About Michael:
Michael Tay is a New York-based veteran screenwriter, now making his NYC theater debut. A Columbia University MFA graduate in Screenwriting and Sundance alum, his short film “Wet Season” screened at Sundance and won the Special Jury Prize at the Singapore International Film Festival and the Linda Mabalot New Visions Award. His TV writing was a finalist at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, and his feature screenplay The Damned was optioned and presented at the 2024 Cannes Film Market. Before relocating to New York, he wrote for Singapore television. Mom and I Go to the Temple is his first time stepping into the spotlight himself - and bringing his mother along for the ride.
