K-POP MAENADS – reading of a new play

June 30 – July 2, 2026

K-POP MAENADS reimagines Euripides’ The Bacchae for the age of deepfakes and digital desire. PJ, a lonely young man rotting in his family’s basement in New Jersey, builds a pornographic video game starring his favorite K-pop girl group: women he can pause, replay, and program to love him. A play about loneliness, fantasy, and what it costs when we mistake control for connection.

Two renditions will take place:

  • Tuesday, June 30, 8:30–9:30pm
  • Thursday, July 2, 6:30–7:30pm
