In Transit, In Formation

Presented as part of Asia Week New York, this exhibition brings together four artists—Kakyoung Lee, Buhm Hong, Hong Seon Jang, and Sun You—whose practices unfold through movement and becoming. Transit suggests passage through time, labor, and cultural frameworks, while formation describes how forms and identities take shape without closure.

Based in New York and shaped by contemporary Korean diasporic experience, the artists have remained in dialogue for over a decade. Though their practices have developed independently, they share parallel concerns with displacement, memory, and belonging. Working across sculpture, installation, animation, and video, the artists exist in a dual position—always en route, continually evolving.
