In seeking his big break an unlucky American actor is propelled by misfortune to a tiny island in the Pacific, where he unearths the forgotten story of Australia’s most popular entertainer, Irving Sayles. In an examination of racist humor, Dark Stars weaves together the stories of these two African Americans, living a hundred years apart. In trying to revive the memory of Sayles, the actor comes face-to-face with the true cost & questionable value of fame.
