For fifteen years, Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, Complexions’ co-artistic directors, have created challenging, thought-provoking, entertaining and accessible work. The company’s diverse and intense physical style will take center stage at The Joyce in three different programs featuring audience favorites like Rise and Mercy and an unprecedented six New York premieres, including a new company work set to the sweeping beauty of a Rachmaninoff score; an all-female work set to the hit classic song “American Pie;” and a solo for Desmond Richardson that confirms his legacy as one of the most magnificent dance artists of our time.
