Join Hi-ARTS for a hands-on, movement-based workshop where they’ll explore how personal stories, music, memory, and history can all live in the body. This workshop invites you to tap into your own experiences—whether it’s a favorite song from your childhood, a place that shaped you, or the energy of 80s and 90s Hip-Hop culture—and use them to inspire movement and connection.

Together, you’ll play with improvisation, storytelling, and choreography in a relaxed and welcoming space. You’ll leave with new tools for creating movement, a deeper understanding of how your own history can shape your art, and hopefully, a little more joy in your body. Expect a mix of guided movement, creative prompts, solo reflection, and informal sharings. Emerging to mid-career choreographers, dance artists, and interdisciplinary performers are encouraged to attend.

Please wear comfortable clothing to move in, 90s theme attire is suggested! Don’t forget to bring water!
