A Night at the Opera

Dress up to the nines and enjoy an extraordinary night at the Chinese opera! With a full traditional Chinese orchestra, the Eastern Fuzhou Opera Group will perform “Dream of the Red Chamber” and the Fujianese classic tale of “Gan Guobao” at the upper plaza of Forsyth Plaza with projected illustrations by artist Sarula Bao.

The Illustrious Pearl will emcee the night as our friends, neighbors, and artists from Chinatown walk the runway in their best fashion. Models of all ages will be showing off their favorite clothing pieces and accessories. We’ll also showcase the work of emerging Asian American and Pacific Islander fashion designers. At the end, we invite anyone who wants to walk to have their belated New York Fashion Week moment on Chinatown’s very own “red carpet!”
