Asian Hall of Fame elevates Asian and Indigenous contributions across industries worldwide. They honor trailblazers, foster cultural appreciation, and celebrate stories that inspire global impact. They’re looking for a Social Media Fellow to help amplify their voice online in a way that is elegant, elevated, and trend-aware—without compromising the sophistication of the brand.

About the Applied Research Institute:
Established in 2019, the Institute’s mission is to help bridge the gap between academics and the workplace. International Fellows will receive a 1-3 year OPT extension on their F-1 Visa. After 90 days of service, Fellows are eligible for grants toward technical training, certifications, gear, convention attendance, & counseling.

Position Summary:
This is a mid-junior-level role for someone with 1–2 years of experience managing or supporting social media for a brand or organization. We’re looking for someone who isn’t just reactive, but proactively pitches ideas, spots emerging trends, and adapts them with taste and sophistication. Our ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, values cultural representation, and understands the balance between what’s timely and what’s timeless.

Responsibilities:
- Content Strategy & Copywriting: Write thoughtful, on-brand content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X.
- Content Development & Support: Assist in developing weekly content calendars by contributing creative ideas that resonate with donors, partners, and our broader audience. - - Help draft and schedule posts, ensuring alignment with campaign goals and brand messaging.
- Visual Coordination: Collaborate with our graphic designer to ensure all social media visuals align with brand standards. Assist with light edits in Canva as needed for resizing, formatting, or quick-turnaround posts.
- Partnerships Research: Identify influencers, organizations, and potential collaborators who align with our mission.
- Video Editing: Edit video content for social media and other digital platforms. Familiarity with editing software is a plus.
- Data Entry & Analysis: Enter social media engagement metrics into our database and analyze which content is performing best and why.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in social media marketing or content creation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong proofreading and editing skills.
  • Extremely organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, track deadlines, and maintain consistency across platforms and campaigns.
  • Graphic design skills, preferably using Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator, and a good sense of visual style.
  • Familiarity with engagement strategies across major platforms.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and communicate ideas clearly.
  • Experience in video editing
