UCLA is excited to announce that the CALL Festival is now seeking proposals from artists, performers, and creative organizations. The CALL Festival is taking place on April 19, 2025 at UCLA School of Law. The festival will bring together visionary artists, activists, attorneys, advocates, legal scholars, and community members to share innovative, cutting-edge collaborations at the intersection of art and law aimed at developing and disseminating new strategies to end mass incarceration. Some past workshops have included:
- READY SET RESIST: Using Art to Nurture Abolitionist Youth
- Community Leadership for Liberation: Transformative Justice and Art of Creative Storytelling
- A History of Art and the Prison Industrial Complex
- Bloom & Agitate: Reimagining Liberation through Personal Healing and Collective Action
- Undanced Dances Through Prison Walls During a Pandemic
Application Instructions
Submission Details:
Proposal Deadline: February 16, 2025
Submission Requirements:
WORKSHOPS - 2-3 hours maximum
SHORT FILMS - 40 minutes maximum
SHOWCASES - 15 minutes maximum

- Palestinian Liberation
- Carceral Feminism
- Predictive Policing/Technological Advancement in Policing
- Surveillance
- Prison Industrial Complex (“PIC”) Abolition
- Reimagining Safety/Liberation
- Queer Liberation
- Reparations
- Mental Health
- Transformative Justice
- The Failure of Prop 6 (involuntary servitude) in California and similar efforts around the country
