Institutional Giving Manager

Organizational Summary:
Playwrights Horizons is a writer’s theater dedicated to the support and development of contemporary U.S. playwrights, composers and lyricists, and to the production of their new work.

Reports to:
Associate Director, Development

Position Summary:
-They are seeking an Institutional Giving Manager to join a small but dynamic team to help raise philanthropic and sponsorship from corporations, foundations, elected officials and government agencies. Reporting to the Associate Director of -Development, this position will research and identify new revenue streams from institutional partners, will manage and grow existing foundation and corporate funding, and will identify and pursue new funding opportunities, all in alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic plan.
Responsibilities:
-Build and maintain relationships with annual fund donors (under $100k) across corporate, government and foundation categories through personal outreach, invitations, benefits fulfillment, recognition, and setting up solicitation meetings
-Manage the corporate sponsorship program, including prospecting, proposal development and benefit fulfillment
-Conduct prospect research to identify new institutional funding and corporate sponsorship opportunities to diversify funding streams
-Develop solicitation plans for prospective funders and new funding opportunities
-Write and prepare materials, budgets, and templates for proposals, reports, and meetings
-Work with colleagues across the organization to gather data needed for grant proposals and reporting
-Maintain organization systems, including grants deadline calendar and institutional giving database entry
-Oversee processing and acknowledgement of all institutional gifts and pledges
-Provide assistance for Development team, including with various aspects of special events and projects as needed
-Assist in elements of Annual Gala as needed
Qualifications:
-At least five years experience in fundraising or the arts can include internships or college experience
-Track record of grant, proposal or similar writing
-Proficient in G:Suite including google docs and gmail
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Experience with Tessitura a plus
-Comfortable with a hybrid work environment that includes 3 days/week in midtown Manhattan office
-Must be able to work some nights and very occasionally on weekends
Compensation:
Playwrights Horizons offers a comprehensive benefits package including 10 days (two weeks) of vacation, four personal days, and 10 sick days. Employees have access to individual medical, dental, and vision coverage, with various plan options available through Oxford Health Plans. Playwrights Horizons partially subsidizes health and dental insurance and provides vision insurance at no charge to employees. Their benefits package further includes life insurance policy, a 403b retirement plan, and flexible spending accounts for medical, dental, and dependent care expenses. Other perks include a health reimbursement account, Transitchek for transportation expenses, and complimentary and staff-rate tickets to their productions.

Salary: $75,000
