The Wilma Theater seeks someone with experience in individual fundraising, a strong eye for detail, and an interest in working with donors to serve as Individual Giving Associate.

The Wilma Theater creates awesome, adventurous theater, presenting bold, original, well-crafted, thought-provoking productions that represent a range of voices, viewpoints, and styles. Our FY22 operating budget is $4.2M and we seek to grow contributed revenue substantially over the next three years.

The Individual Giving Associate works with the Development Director in support of the Wilma’s individual fundraising activities and overall organizational growth. Reporting to the Director of Development, they will be primarily responsible for the theater’s Annual Fund (donors under $1,000), including execution of direct donor appeals (mailings, online, social media, etc.), cultivation, and stewardship. Additionally, the Individual Giving Associate will be responsible for managing donor data in our Tessitura CRM system, including membership donations and levels, queries, reports, analysis and data hygiene. The Individual Giving Associate will also assist with managing the Wilma’s special events, including our Annual Gala (the Wilma Fete), opening nights, and cultivation events. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

The Individual Giving Associate will contribute meaningfully to the organizational culture of the Wilma and will advocate to advance our values on an organizational, local, and national scale. This person will take part in cross-departmental work, company-wide EDI work and anti-bias training as we further our commitment to being an inclusive, anti-racist organization.

The ideal candidate has: experience with creating individual giving materials or campaigns; experience with databases, including entering data and creating reports; strong attention to detail; an aptitude for collaboration; and strong communications skills. The Individual Giving Associate should be skilled at interacting with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in person and virtually, preferbly with experiece in donor relations; have a strong yet flexible approach to problem-solving; and an interest in non-profit fundraising. They should efficiently manage current processes, while imagining and implementing new approaches to our work. Passion for theater preferred, but not necessary.

Due to Covid-19, the Wilma is currently remote. The Wilma is in the process of creating a return to office policy for 2022, which will include significant time onsite, with some flexibility surrounding work from home, as yet to be determined. Some night and weekend work will be required. The ideal candidate is proficient in remote-work software and systems, with the ability to learn our CRM (Tessitura), Microsoft 365, and project management and video conference tools.

This is a full-time, exempt role with compensation in the low $40,000s. Benefits include 85% payment of toward group health plan including vision, dental insurance, generous paid time off, 403(b) retirement plan, employee assistance program, and other benefits.
