Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires (MA), seeks a highly-organized and detail-oriented Development Associate and Donor Relations Concierge to play a pivotal role with our fundraising and donor engagement team in Pittsfield, MA. This position requires proficiency with our CRM / database, Tessitura, with a focus on gift entry, acknowledgement processing, and fostering positive relationships with our donors. The Associate will have a facility for math/databases, as well as experience with Customer Service and a genuine interest in interfacing with and assisting our major supporters. We’re looking for a candidate who brings a genuine enthusiasm for theatre that will carry over while they provide high level donors with personalized concierge services that will enhance their theatre-going experience and connection to our organization. They must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a positive attitude, and have excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities include:

Customer Relationship Manager (CRM): Tessitura
Oversight of donation entry, acknowledgement, and benefits to ensure that every donor receives swift and meaningful recognition for their contribution
Managing the CRM database which includes mastering its capabilities and upgrades and training team members, as needed
Pulling and cleaning reports and lists for appeals, events, and donor listings
Reconciling accounts monthly with our Director of Accounting
Tracking monthly pledges and sending invoices and membership renewals

Customer Relations
Building relationships with board members and major donors and engaging with community members at in-person events
Assisting lead donors with ticketing needs and other benefits
Greeting donors at the theatre and assisting in our patrons’ lounge

Events
Providing support for donor events which includes the annual Berkshire gala, opening nights and the NYC gala

Misc:
Supporting activities of Development Department and other efforts that assist the broader mission of BSC as needed

This position reports to the Deputy Director of Development. It is full-time exempt with occasional evening/weekend work throughout the year, with more anticipated between June - August.

Salary is $38,000 - $41,000, commensurate with experience, plus relocation assistance offered to out-of-town candidates as well as a competitive benefit package.

Requirements

  • Self-starter who enjoys working independently and with a team to meet a goal
  • Impeccable organization skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Facility with numbers / math
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, dobe Acrobat
  • Experience with Tessitura, Foundation Center and other funder portals is a plus
  • Knowledge and interest in theatre, fundraising, and the Berkshires is a plus
  • A positive attitude, concern for other people and community, presence, self-confidence
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
