Communications Intern

AHL Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Communications Intern to join our team. This is a part-time, paid internship based in our Harlem gallery, ideal for those interested in arts communications, nonprofit work, and hands-on gallery experience.

Schedule:
2 days per week (6 hours per day, 12 hours total)
Must be available during gallery hours (Wed-Sat 12–6 PM)

Compensation:
$16.50/hour

This internship may be eligible for school credit. We are happy to provide any documentation required by your institution to support credit approval.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
* Support content creation for AHL Foundation’s social media and website (WordPress)
* Assist with the design and production of exhibition catalogs and promotional materials
* Help document gallery exhibitions and public programs (photography/video)
* Serve as front desk staff during open gallery hours, welcoming visitors and monitoring the space
* Assist with exhibition installation, deinstallation, and opening reception events as needed
* Provide general communications and gallery support for ongoing programs

Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong writing and communication skills
* Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms
* Experience with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe InDesign or Photoshop)
* Comfort working independently in a gallery setting
* Interest in contemporary art and nonprofit work
* Korean language proficiency is strongly preferred
* This position offers valuable experience in arts communications, public engagement, and gallery operations. Ideal for students or recent graduates seeking hands-on training in a small but dynamic arts organization.
