Irish Arts Center is looking for a creative, sharp, and detail-oriented candidate with excellent writing skills to join our team as Communications and Marketing Associate. The successful candidate will report to the director of communications and marketing and assist with all marketing and communications functions and assets for the organization, including email and social media messaging, digital and print collateral, digital advertising strategy and execution, KPI and audience data extraction and research/analysis, artist/partner outreach, and budget tracking. As IAC continues to grow into our new home and develop processes to best serve the space, this role may evolve to meet changing needs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Work closely with the director of communications and marketing to write and proof content for email communications, social media, event programs, and other marketing materials
b. Project manage graphic designers on the creation of digital and print collateral
c. Perform light design work, including branding, cropping, and resizing of images in Photoshop, Figma, or similar application
d. Help create and optimize digital advertising campaigns on Google, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms
e. Help define and target audiences for the institution’s various comms output
f. Work with video producers to create and edit promotional content
g. Serve as a point of contact for marketing partners, artists, patrons, and vendors to facilitate cross-promotions, the collection and exchange of info and assets for marketing materials, and group sales
h. Help update and maintain website
i. Help oversee general departmental duties, including budget tracking, as needed
j. Attend occasional evening and weekend events for marketing or wider team
coverage
Requirements
The ideal candidate has one to three years’ work experience in marketing, journalism, copywriting, communications or related field. They are meticulously attentive to detail, can spot a typo from a mile away, and should be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously and managing competing priorities. An interest in the performing arts is a plus.
Other core or desired attributes include:
• A deep interest in, and talent for, the written word
• An eye for design
• A high standard of excellence. Sweating the small stuff when it comes to public-facing
materials is a good thing!
• Basic fluency in AP or Chicago style, or the ability to learn and apply it as you go
• Respect for colleagues and the spirit of collaboration and teamwork
• An interest in learning, over time, about the ever-evolving artistic and cultural landscape
of the Irish diaspora
• Familiarity with some or all of the following is strongly preferred, but not required:
o Google and Facebook Ads Manager
o Tessitura or similar CRM
o WordFly or other email marketing software
o Photoshop, Figma, or similar design application
o Basic CMS platforms like Craft
