Requirements
SUN
(40s-50s, Indonesian)
Sun is a weary but resilient man, performing as a worn-out Elmo on Fremont Street in Las Vegas. A single father, he quietly endures daily humiliation and hardship to support his eight-year-old daughter, Sunny. Sun carries the weight of his circumstances with a sense of quiet desperation, but a fierce devotion to his daughter lies beneath the fatigue and despair. Though life constantly beats him down, he finds small moments of joy with Sunny, holding onto hope for a better future despite the growing toll on his health and dignity.
Experience with physical acting or mime, as Sun’s performance as a street entertainer is a key element of the role. Must also be able to convey subtle emotional shifts with minimal dialogue.
SUNNY
(7-9 years old, Indonesian)
Sunny is an optimistic and imaginative eight-year-old girl who remains joyful and full of wonder despite her difficult circumstances. She dreams of being a performer. Living in a cramped apartment with her father, she dreams of magical places like Disneyland and finds happiness in small, everyday moments, such as dancing with her father and playing with fast-food toys. Sunny’s innocence and vibrant spirit contrast with the harsh realities around her, but she is perceptive and quietly aware of her father’s struggles. The actor must capture both the carefree innocence of childhood and the deep emotional connection she shares with her father.
