Casting Call for Chinese Professor

A team of Columbia University students working on their first feature film currently has an immediate need for a lead actor to portray a passionate Chinese professor. Their full appearance time in the final film should be about 30 minutes.

This Chinese plotline, part of the larger film Tales of Kingston College, follows a Chinese professor at the prestigious school who wants to create a new and more effective way of teaching Chinese… but his student is the legacy-admit son of a billionaire whose only true interest is in day drinking.

Because they are a low-budget student production, they are unfortunately unable to offer payment, but they are committed to making something great, and providing our actors with high quality footage to add to their reels! Requirements

The Professor – Male, age 40-60. Must be a native Chinese speaker, northern mainland accent preferred. Must be able to speak English, but accent in English is not important. A Chinese teacher who is disillusioned with the terrible condition of American students’ Chinese ability and lack of respect for China. Passionate about their country of origin and even more passionate about the language they teach. Has a tenacious spirit, professional but playful at times, and isn’t afraid to use unconventional methods to get through to their students.
