Tomoko Omura Roots Quintet

Tomoko Omura Roots Quintet is a modern jazz quintet that plays Tomoko’s compositions, inspired by Japanese culture, person, folk tales and melodies.

Tomoko has released an album “Roots” (2015) with a critical acclaim which includes 9 Japanese folk songs reimagined. The quintet continues to explore the sound and is currently working on a new set of music for their upcoming album.

Tomoko has been a Rising star on Downbeat magazine since 2015 and New York Times calls her “A rising talent worth watching”.

For the night, the band is featuring Jeff Miles on guitar, Glenn Zaleski on piano, Desmond White on bass, Jay Sawyer on drums.

$10 at the door and $10 minimum order for drink or food.
