Lo Hei Lunar New Year 2023 Celebration
7 – 9PM
Join us to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit with a lively Lunar New Year dinner celebration in the historic Nine Orchard Hotel!
A4 welcomes the Year of the Rabbit with an interactive Lo Hei dinner ritual, drinks, and special musical performance.
Lo Hei (or Yusheng), also known as a Prosperity Toss, is a Cantonese-style raw fish salad popularized in Singapore and Malaysia. For this communal ritual, each Lo Hei ingredient is introduced with a saying symbolizing a wish for the new year, culminating in all participants shouting wishes and tossing the ingredients with chopsticks—the higher your toss, the higher your fortune’s growth!
Comedian Kate Rigg and Singaporean artist Hong-Ling Wee will lead us through the ritual in a fun and festive performance. Following the Prosperity Toss, there will be a buffet-style dinner, followed by a set from the dynamic, award-winning electroacoustic duo ARKAI.
In addition to dinner, the evening will feature desserts courtesy of Nine Orchard, and drinks from our sponsors Moshi, Lunar, Singha, Diamond Hong Company 1/2/3.
Please enter at 10 Allen St. We will have greeters stationed at the entrance to guide you to the event space on the second floor.
We encourage you to arrive on time at 7:00 pm for the full experience. The bar will be open and you can arrive as early as 6:50 pm. Please note the Lo Hei dinner will start promptly at 7:15 pm.
Dress code is post-work festive.
Your ticket supports programs that break down barriers for Asian American artists and arts organizations, nurture community, and provide resources to foster creativity.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
