Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)
If you work in the public or non-profit sector you may qualify for federal student loan forgiveness. Because of a COVID-emergency program from the US Department of Education, many federal student loans are being forgiven for government or nonprofit workers. The program expires October 31, 2022.
250,000 New Yorkers working in government or nonprofits are now eligible. 5,000 New Yorkers have already been forgiven an average of $63,935.
