7 – 9PM

In 1997, Jeff Halper co-founded ICAHD to challenge and resist the Israeli policy of demolishing Palestinian homes and to organize Israelis, Palestinians, and international volunteers to jointly rebuild demolished homes. ICAHD also considers its resistance to house demolitions as a vehicle for exposing how the Israeli occupation works and with the ultimate aim of ending it. As co-founder and director of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) and an anti-settlement peace activist dedicated to ending the Israeli Occupation of Palestinian territories, Halper will speak about Israel’s policy of demolishing Palestinian homes and other structures as a way of pushing Palestinians off their land. He will also discuss the broader implications of the end of the Kerry talks, and perspectives for the fight for justice and peace in the region.
