Program Coordinator Role:
The Program Coordinator is a dynamic and ever-evolving role within our organization, playing a vital part in delivering on SAADA’s mission, deepening our impact, and fostering meaningful connections with South Asian American communities across the country. You will report to and work closely with SAADA’s Program Manager to develop and execute innovative programs and initiatives that align with our organization’s long term vision, working on programs such as the First Days Project, the Revolution Remix Walking Tour, and our Archival Creators Fellowship Program.

The Skills You Bring & the Type of Work You Will Do:
-Your ability to effectively structure and manage tasks, resources, and time is a powerful asset that plays a pivotal role in ensuring SAADA’s success. You will work closely with the Program Manager on various projects, tracking deliverables, taking notes at project meetings, and following up on next steps to consistently deliver impactful programs and events.
-You establish and cultivate meaningful connections with others based on trust, mutual understanding, effective communication, and your empathy and demonstrated understanding of the South Asian American experience and/or experiences of other marginalized groups. This will allow you to conduct interviews with community members for participatory storytelling projects and recruit volunteers to be community historians with SAADA’s First Days project.
-Your attention to detail will ensure accuracy in the items and stories we collect and share through SAADA’s digital archive, such as digitizing and preparing materials for preservation, or transcribing textual materials and audio/video content to enhance their accessibility and use.
-Your communication skills allow you to effectively convey information between colleagues, partners, key stakeholders, and the SAADA community. This includes responding to reference requests from researchers, students, and community members or onboarding volunteers and maintaining regular contact that supports retention and recognition.
-Your logistical skills position you to assist in executing a variety of programs and events, like arranging travel for fellows and workshop participants, along with supporting technical needs for online events.
-You can work with data in various phases, from data entry to data analysis. Sample activities include creating descriptive metadata for items in SAADA’s archive, reviewing survey results and research reports, and building data visualization charts.
-You can analyze processes and workflows, identifying gaps or inefficiencies, while providing solutions that will allow us to enhance our performance. For instance, creating systemized procedures for new projects.
-You are a fast learner with new systems and have demonstrable skills with word processing software, spreadsheets, and presentations, allowing you to deliver high-quality work.
-You are committed to SAADA’s mission of expanding the circle of who belongs in the American story and will enthusiastically uplift and live by SAADA’s core values.
-You have at least 2-5 years of relevant professional experience.
-You are available to work occasional weekends/evenings for meetings, events, and time-sensitive deadlines.

Salary and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000. SAADA is committed to providing our staff with a competitive benefits package, which includes a monthly health insurance stipend, paid time off, short- and long-term disability and life insurance, retirement matching, a wellness stipend, and a professional development fund. This hybrid position (typically three days in office per week following an initial non-hybrid in-person onboarding period) is based in SAADA’s Philadelphia office, located at 1650 Arch Street, Suite 2130, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
