A young Filipina - American girl must traverse her caucasian neighborhood and cultural roots, as she navigates the complexities of unconditional love and bleached blonde desire.


Roles in this project:

YOUNG MIA - Lead, (5-8) Mia is the only Filipina American kid in town. Lively spirit, but dreads Catholic Sunday school, where she faces her classmates’ judgment. At home, she thrives on board games, cheesy ensaymada, and TV, yet grapples with societal expectations. While she loves her mom, her bond with her dad is stronger—he’s her role model.

Physical Description: Brown doe eyes, black brown/dark hair, tan skin.

DAD - Supporting, (40-55) Dad epitomizes selflessness, prioritizing the needs of others before himself. He has a great deal of patience for his daughter and will protect her at all costs.
