INTERNSHIPS
Position: Development/Special Events Intern
The Alliance is seeking a Development/Special Events Intern to assist with fundraising, event planning and logistics, and general administrative tasks. Special focus this fall will be on the Alliance’s House of Fame 2009 cocktail party fundraiser.
Duration of internship: September – December 2009 (15-20 hours/week)
Qualifications:
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Must be able to act professionally at events and in the workplace.
• Interested in and/or familiar with the Asian American arts community, the NYC cultural sector and/or the nonprofit sector.
• Undergraduate and Graduate students in arts administration or similar field are especially encouraged to apply.
Interns will receive access to all Alliance and member events (workshops, performances, special events, etc.), receive school credit, and gain first-hand experience working in nonprofit arts administration, development and fundraising.

Position: Program Intern
The Alliance is seeking a Program Intern to assist with membership development, maintenance of the organization’s website, coordination of the monthly Town Hall, and implementation of the community online forum. Special focus this fall on the Urban Artist Initiative regrant program.
Duration of internship: September – December 2009 (15-20 hours/week)
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to details and able to handle multiple tasks and projects
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), required
- Knowledge of Photoshop, required
- Must have strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Interested in and/or familiar with the Asian American arts community, the NYC cultural sector, and/or the nonprofit sector
Time Commitment (required):
Three days a week, from 10am - 6pm
Available from September 1 through end of December
Must be available first Tuesdays of each month from 9am – 1pm for Town Hall
Compensations:
- College credits offered
- Travel stipend available
